Correctional Alternatives, Inc joins forces nationally to promote Recovery Month

Correctional Alternatives, Inc joined the voices- for- change by participating in National Recovery Month/ 2010. Special activities included an expanded “ Family Night”; encouraging family members to join in the process of change and reconciliation. After an encouraging family therapy group, members shared cake and found kinship among other families broken by addiction and chronic incarceration.
Treatment groups participated in “ Recovery Trivia” allowing members to test their knowledge of the history of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Clients had an opportunity to win “Recovery Supplies” including AA/NA Big Books, Yearly Calendars, and Class organizers.
“National Addiction Professionals Day” was recognized on September 20, 2010. This remembrance served as a reminder to all staff that assist in the effort to encourage, support, and inspire clients to live a clean, sober and pro social lifestyle.
